The successful candidate will join our R&D team of programmers and mechanical engineers and in doing so will become part of a team that is at the forefront of industrial automation.
With a good understanding of industrial automation, including mechanical concepts, controls requirements and feedback loops, the candidate will assist with the development and troubleshooting of a system that combines LabView and robotics, along with various feedback loop sensors that may include force, vision, and thermal.
This is a “hands on” role supporting an existing and evolving Additive Manufacturing Robotic Cell which includes laser technology, powder feeding systems, deposition head and other peripheral devices. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in working with and developing electrical control systems, including robotics.

• Interested candidates should have a good working knowledge of industry standard automation components such as PLC’s (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.), robotics (Fanuc, Kuka, etc.), machine vision (Cognex, Keyence, Xiris, etc.), and the various industrial network protocols (TCP/IP, ProfiNET, EtherCAT, TCP/UDP, etc.).
• Programming skills with LabView, C++, and C#, along with robot languages such as Karel, KRL and Rapid will be considered an asset.
• 8-10 years of relevant job experience.
